TIPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL JUICE CLEANSE

 

-- Get a tongue scraper from the drug store, health store or Walmart for about $3. Use it many times a day during a cleanse, as the body detoxes a lot through the tongue, and we don’t want to wash those toxins back down the throat with our juice or water.

-- Deep breathing can help you get through many difficult moments during a cleanse. Air is a primary fuel source.

-- Tincture to kill bacteria from greens: black walnut, cloves, wormwood. (Dr. Marshall in Delray has this.)

-- A little cayenne pepper in your juice is a good thing, also kills bacteria. This from Viktoras Kulvinskas.

-- Drink more JUICE! Drink more WATER!

-- Strain your juice through a fine screen to get all the fiber/pulp out, otherwise it lines the GI tract and blocks absorption of that precious juice. Publix has several fine mesh metal strainers; I just got one for $3.49.

-- Need an enema? Walgreen's is a good place to go.

-- If you are feeling strong and have access to a sauna, sit in one for as long as is comfortable, anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes, every day during a juice cleanse, if you can.

-- Tempted to eat at night? GO TO SLEEP EARLY!

-- Chilling? It's natural for the body's temperature to rise slightly during a fast. Not to worry unless is gets too high; put on an extra layer or grab a blanket.

-- Get lots of HUGS. Love and touch are the best fuel of all.

-- If you are using your juicer at home throughout the day, and don't want to take it apart and wash it each time you juice, just pour a cup of water through it each time you get ready to juice.

-- Get a buddy to give you a massage. Take short naps. Do some light stretching, yoga. Call your juice feasting buddy.
